Nigel Ackland, 53, has been fitted with a carbon fibre mechanical hand, which he can control with the muscles in his upper arm. The arm moves like a real human limb and is so sensitive that Nigel can type on a computer keyboard, hold a raw egg and even dress himself for the first time in six years.The terminator hand costs about £25,000 in total to fit to a patient.

The Nokia Kinetic Concept Phone was designed to be used through movement. The not inconsiderable posterior is not only there to hold the camera, but it also contains an electro-magnet. The magnet moves, shifting the weight distribution and allowing the phone to effectively 'stand up' on its own. This allows for a rather novel way to interact with the phone, to reject a call, you simply tap the phone and it will retreat back to its original position.
